United Airlines First Class B737 San Francisco to Los Angeles

After touching down in San Francisco, I went over to the new (and somewhat small) United Club (which was a challenge in itself to get to) in the new Boarding Area E. Most of my flights arrived/departed from United’s new Boarding Area in SFO. This lounge was recently opened and it is one level up from departures, as you are walking between Concourse E and F, there is a elevator that takes you up to the lounge.

The lounge itself was… small and there weren’t even that many food or drink options.

To get to the lounge you must first pass through a series of hallways and elevators, at least the pictures are nice to look at 🙂

Around half an hour before boarding was supposed to begin, I left the lounge and within about 5 minutes I made it to the gate and I was able to see my plane pulling into the gate. Within minutes, of course, there was a 30 minute delay announced; not because of the construction this time! Apparently a kid made a mess (and you know what that means), so they had to get some sort of ‘special cleaning crew’. Not only that, the plane was also delayed by about 10 minutes.

This flight was operated by another United Boeing 737, different plane but same crew from Seattle! The purser recognised me and welcomed me back on board. She asked me if I wanted the same thing to drink and I told her of course I did. She also made a comment how I had the same seat (I tend to choose 2A on all flights).

My sprite was served within minutes of boarding.

Despite the delay, we made it in the air quickly and I enjoyed nice views of California.

At 11.000 metres, the seatbelt sign was turned off and the crew began taking drink orders and distributing snacks. There was a snack basket which consisted of chips, Toblerone chocolate, and some apples.

The whole flight took around an hour, we soon made it down to Los Angeles.

Once on the ground, we pulled into Terminal 7 fairly quickly. I was able to catch some nice views of the birds parked at the international terminal.

Once in LA, I had to go to baggage claim and recheck my bag which took all of 10 minutes. United pleasantly surprised me as my bag was literally the first one. I’m not kidding. It was the first damn bag to come out on the belt, I was very impressed.
