United Airlines Business Class A320 Mexico City to San Francisco
A Weekend in la Ciudad de México – Introduction

After spending an incredible and unforgettable few days in Mexico City, it was time to return to Seattle for a few days (and later on to Europe). The return journey to Seattle was booked again via San Francisco since it was the quickest way and it’s not like I needed to make a mileage run out of the trip to Mexico City.
Boarding was a complete mess, most people had no clue where to board or what lane they are supposed to be in… that resulted in First Class and Group 1 boarding halfway through the boarding process. The flight was operated by an Airbus A320.
We pushed back about ten minutes before scheduled departure time and actually took off right on schedule. Upon climbing out of Mexico City, we were presented with a beautiful view of the city and surrounding areas. The city is literally one of the biggest cities in the world, I mean it is massive. I’ve been there a few times already and there are always new places to explore.
Once we reached our cruising altitude of 38k feet, the lead flight attendant took drink and lunch orders. Firstly we were served a drink of our choice along with warm nuts. I opted for a tea with lemon and sugar.. but apparently they didn’t have lemons.
There were two options for lunch: beef or chicken. Generally speaking, I select chicken or pasta over anything else since it is a ‘safe’ meal and hard for airlines to screw it up. On more exclusive airlines in First Class, I will always eat something new to try it.
The chicken was a bit too spicy, however the salad was fresh and tasted excellent. The bread was warmed up and fresh as well. The cheesecake was OK and nothing too fancy, it did have a lot of sugar, though.
After lunch, I decided to work a bit on my laptop and later ended up napping for the remainder of the flight. Total flight time to SFO was about four hours and thirty minutes.
We had an early arrival into SFO and I cleared customs within ten minutes of the cabin door opening.. this is due to the fact that I have Global Entry and that I didn’t have any checked bags. You could technically say that I was already enjoying the AMEX Centurion Lounge as some of the last people were getting off of the plane.
All in all, I had a great time in Mexico City with friends and it was an awesome short little trip. Up next is my long two-month vacation and relaxation in Europe for which I’m departing very soon. I’m glad I was able to redeem expiring miles for this trip since it seemed like a great use of those miles, and it was! I will always return to Mexico City as it continues to remain my favourite city in the world.
