United Airlines First Class B737 Seattle to San Francisco
United Airlines 1129
Seattle (SEA) – San Francisco (SFO)
Boeing 737-800
13 June 2014
Since the flight was delayed by around 30 minutes, boarding did not start until the scheduled departure time and the actual departure time was 35 minutes after the original departure time. The flight was leaving from gate A14, which happens to be the last gate at the A Concourse. When I arrived at the gate, everyone was already queueing for boarding and the door for the jetway hadn’t even been open yet.
Once on the plane, I could tell we got a warm crew because they made several jokes and were very friendly with all the passengers. They even made jokes about how it was Friday the 13th.
Overall an ugly day in Seattle, it rains a lot…
The flight was operated by one of United’s Boeing 737 aircraft which features DirecTV but no WiFi.
Within minutes of boarding we were offered pre-departure beverages and I had a sprite with some ice.
Once we got above the clouds, the view was like a whole different world. No rain (obviously), just sun and clouds.
About 20 minutes after take-off the purser went around and took drink orders from everyone.
After everyone had drinks, they distributed freshly made cookies which were melting as you ate them, given how hot they were.
For the remainder of the flight, I got some work done on my laptop and mainly gazed out the window.
The hour and a half flew by fast and we were soon starting our initial approach into San Francisco.
We did have to circle a few times around the airport before we were clear to land as they had several planes in the sky. Apparently they are remodelling and preforming some sort of construction on two runways and that, well, leads to a big mess…
At least it was a gorgeous day in San Francisco
We were soon on the ground and I still had over an hour to spare until my flight to Los Angeles.
