United Airlines Business Class B737 San Juan to Chicago
United Airlines 1718
San Juan (SJU) – Chicago-O’Hare (ORD)
Boeing 737-800
12 May 2014
After spending around an hour in the Global Lounge, I went over to the departure gate a little early as I didn’t have boarding passes for the onward flights. Within a minute the agent printed them and announced I should just board as they were about to start. I was originally supposed to sit in 2A, however there was a couple travelling and they were separated so they asked me to switch and I sat down in 4A.
My pre-departure beverage consisted of a sprite. The main FA told me I look just like his nephew and told me jokingly to not be surprised if he calls me a different name. The crew was very warm and friendly.
We had an on time departure from San Juan and within minutes we reached our cruising altitude and the FAs began taking drink and food orders.
We were served hot towels followed by our choice of a drink and some warm nuts.
We were given a choice of either a Shrimp salad or some sort of beef wrapped in tortilla. Both came with Chicken Tortilla soup which was delicious and served with croutons.
The shrimp salad was delicious and tasty, then the FAs came around with a bread basket.
Meanwhile my seat mate had the beef option with wine.
After lunch we were served some fresh cookies which were still warm and the chocolate was melting.
After lunch I decided to work on my laptop for a while and within a couple of hours we were on final approach into O’hare.
Little did I know what was going to happen in Chicago later that night…
