Lufthansa Business Class B737 Frankfurt to Katowice

A Boeing! A Boeing! No way! This route is almost always operated by a CRJ700, so I was very excited that we’d be flying a ‘normal’ sized aircraft to Katowice. The bus ride to the remote stand took ten minutes and boarding was one hell of a mess. I don’t see why people always need to rush, it’s not like the airplane has open seating.

As I sat down, I was immediately welcomed by the main FA and she informed that I’d be the only person in Business class on today’s flight. She also offered me some water and asked if I wanted to have lunch. Intra-European Business class is simply Economy with a blocked middle seat and better food service.

She brought me my water within about 30 seconds of welcoming me onboard and told me if I needed anything, to be sure to let either FA know.

Empty Business Class cabin all to myself!

We were parked next to a beautiful regional jet.

The flight was delayed by about ten minutes as we were still waiting for the last bus of passengers to arrive and as soon as they did, the door was closed and we were off. I am beginning to think all Poland flights from Frankfurt take-off from Runway 18, every single flight to Poland from Frankfurt that I’ve been on has always departed from Runway 18.

Also, since I was the only passenger in Business Class, the FA was literally looking at me while doing the safety demonstration and then she would walk back to Economy and do it there, then she’d come back and look at me, do the next step and walk back to Economy, and repeat.

We reached our cruising altitude within about fifteen minutes and the FAs began preparations for the snack.

I declined the ‘lunch’ since it didn’t seem to look appetising at all and had some tea and ice cream.

The whole flight lasted maybe an hour, from departure to arrival. I hadn’t even finished my ice cream yet and we were already descending.

Despite the delay, we were on the ground ahead of schedule.

I briefly talked with the FAs upon landing and they asked me what I was doing in Poland and I explained to them that I study in Seattle but all of my family is in Poland and that I visit them each summer.

As with the other flight, the FAs were super nice and friendly in every way possible. Intra-European Business Class is not worth paying for, but however if you get it as part of a mileage upgrade, it is a nice addition to your journey.
