Wow… where do I even begin? This past summer was… something different. A combination of way too much (regular and very boring) work, little travel, and no blogging. I don’t know how I feel about the past few months, but one thing is for sure – the future looks much, much better.
If you are new to my blog (which I suppose some of you are), hello and welcome! I’m Dominik and I’ve been on the BoardingArea platform for the past few years. My blog appeared on Prior2Boarding, however, a few months ago it was shut down and now all blogs link to BoardingArea (thanks, House of Miles)! I write trip reports and a variety of tips and tricks which you can utilise in the frequent flyer world, as well as my general observations of all things travel.
Returning back to the summer… I didn’t travel much at all. In April I went to Montreal, Seattle, and Tokyo – a two week trip. In June I went to Seattle for two weeks, in August I travelled to Montreal and Seattle. Last week I returned from a very fast-paced two week trip that involved Toronto, Ottawa, Philadelphia, St. John’s, San Francisco, and Chicago. As many of you remember my “base” when I am not in Seattle or travelling is in Kraków, Poland.
The past few months have felt empty as I did not travel much at all and most of the trips I wasn’t travelling much as I was in Seattle visiting family and friends, and reminding myself about how much I f#$king love Seattle and the Pacific Northwest… seriously, there isn’t a region like the PNW anywhere else in the world.
Anyway, the rest of the year is looking very busy with me basically jet-setting around the world with some wonderful friends of mine and also with family. I’m so excited to get back into travel again as I haven’t been that excited about it lately since some of the most recent trips haven’t been that exciting and I’ve just been re-visiting places I’ve been to before. Not to mention, I am in desperate need of a proper beach holiday… last time that happened was in December at the Park Hyatt Maldives.
I find it funny that during summer I didn’t travel much (to be fair, the weather in Kraków was gorgeous), and now that summer has ended, I’m basically travelling for the rest of the year. The weather is going to $#!t in Poland already, so it makes perfect sense to leave and not come back until Christmas time.
Anyway, I just wanted to report that I’m super happy to be back and blog again. I am finding more time for blogging since this is really how all of this began… through blogging and I’ve forgotten at how much I love sharing my experiences and tips with all of you.
So if you are still here after me not posting for months, thank you for hanging around! I’m back, better than ever, and excited to be blogging again! Expect regular posting to take-off again shortly. 🙂
