There’s no secret that I absolutely love Starwood Hotels and of course everyone loves Starwood Preferred Guest, which will sadly be destroyed (hopefully not too badly) by Marriott. SPG is my favourite hotel loyalty programme because of the incredible benefits elite members receive, Starwood’s amazing hotels, and of course their great customer service.
Perhaps the single best use of Starpoints is that they transfer to ~30 airlines at a 1:1 ratio… that’s incredible and something I’ve done hundreds of times since it is what makes Starpoints so versatile… plus they give you 5k miles for every 20k transferred! Starpoints can be acquired in many ways including the AMEX SPG Credit Card which is one of the best ones out there.
I’m currently SPG Gold which comes with some valuable benefits such as an enhanced room, 4PM late check-out, bonus points, etc. And I’m going to be SPG Platinum by the end of the year which includes even more benefits like upgrades to suites, breakfast, etc. I just wanted to make a post to show how much I love the #SPGLife which will sadly be going away sometime in the next few years (unless Marriott decides to keep the programme alive).
The #SPGLife is something more than just points, it is something incredible where millions of memories are made by many members worldwide. Perhaps the best and most memorable hotel/resort stays I’ve had are all with Starwood. Hyatt comes close to Starwood, but Starwood and SPG will always have a special place in my heart. Other hotel loyalty programmes and companies don’t even come close to the amazing benefits and service that Starwood provides.
Starwood has a unique selection of hotels ranging from budget to ultra high-end and from “antique” to super modern. The #SPGLife is something everyone should experience and something I’m planning to maximise to make the best memories this year before it goes away… something that everyone is sad about.
Starwood has served me well all over the world and I will miss the branding, service, and #SPGLife and therefore I’m trying my best to truly experience it more this year and to maximise Starwood’s incredible service.
