Hello from the AMEX Centurion Studio in Seattle! After eating a delicious supper, I’m waiting for my flight in comfort as I sample some premium, tasty drinks. The supper was really delicious, it consisted of some tomato bisque soup, salads, vegetables, and more. I’m really happy that AMEX decided to build this Centurion Studio here in Seattle – it’s awesome.
Anyway, it is a bit late and my flight leaves at 23:59, so I still have some time to relax before the overnight flight. As I was walking through the airport this evening, I just simply felt so relaxed and comfortable… like seriously. I don’t think there are other places than airports and lounges that relax me so much. For most, airports are stressful and some people literally hate airports. I love airports.
It isn’t just about the lounges. Yeah, the airport lounges are amazing and they truly help with the overall experience. However, I was just walking through the airport and looking at all of the gates, the destinations, the aircraft, the families boarding, etc. Just seeing aircraft and the destinations they fly to is magnificent. Airports at night are especially relaxing because it is dark outside and you can kind of see each aircraft and the most visible part is usually the vertical stabiliser, with the airline’s logo shining brightly… it’s just so cool to see all of these different airlines at night and then people departing to various destinations at night.
I also feel like most airports are less stressful at night because most passengers get sleepier and don’t have that much energy – this helps with the overall atmosphere as you don’t hear loud conversations and unnecessary gestures from others. To simply put it, airports at night are just amazing. I love airports, but I just love to fly and be at airports at night – the whole experience is just so relaxing and comforting.
Perhaps I’m one of the few who think this, but I just love travel and perhaps what makes me excited at the fact of travel is not that I just travel, but seeing others travel and depart to explore the world really puts a smile on my face. Similarly when people return home and their families welcome them at the airport, it’s just a wonderful sight and hearing other people’s travel experiences is awesome too.
So yeah, airports at night and just generally flying at night is wonderful and relaxing. Perhaps it is the view from above during the night – the bright lights show you a different world from the sky.. and you drift off into the night as your wingtip passes over another city…
