I spent a day and a half exploring Warsaw. The day I arrived I went into the Old Town and the following day, I went into the centre of Warsaw. Generally speaking, Warsaw itself isn’t the most beautiful city in the world but does have some beautiful places to it – such as the Old Town.
Warsaw was destroyed during the war and therefore was rebuilt later on and most of the city still has that ‘communistic’ feel to it.. something that I never felt in other cities in Poland. I enjoyed the Old Town and Royal Castle on the first day and later during the evening, I went on a walk across a bridge which presented me with beautiful views of the Vistula river. On the second day, I went into the centre of Warsaw and had a look at some of the most important buildings and palaces. To finish off the day, I had a stroll through the beautiful and gorgeous Łazienki Park.
Overall, Warsaw definitely isn’t the best city in Poland – mainly due to how it looks. Kraków and Gdańsk simply blow Warsaw away and I personally would recommend visiting those two cities over visiting Warsaw. I had a nice weekend in Warsaw and was finally glad that I got to visit the capital of my country. It isn’t the most beautiful, but definitely has some nice areas. If it will be your first time in Poland, I recommend simply visiting the places I went to since I would call them the most ‘important’. Enjoy the pictures!
