I’ve spent the past five or so days in Mexico City (my favourite city in the world) visiting friends and just exploring the city more. I’m glad I decided to go for the few days since I had so much fun catching up with everyone and practising my Spanish more. I visited a few new lounges that I haven’t been to in San Francisco and Mexico City, so the reviews will be included with this trip report.
As far as the flights go, nothing special. I had some miles expiring from different Star Alliance programmes that I now don’t use and therefore I decided to just redeem those for the trip, in First/Business class. It probably wasn’t the best redemption ever, but it was much better than letting the miles expire in July.
I had to wait until last minute to actually book the flights as United wasn’t releasing any saver awards until a few days before, but that wasn’t a problem since I had plenty of backup options. I connected in San Francisco both ways since it was the most convenient and quickest way.
No miles were earned for the trip as it was all an award.
As far as Mexico City goes, it remains my favourite city in the world and the more I’m there, the more I love it. I didn’t visit a lot of historical places since I was there only a few days, but I did get to see all of my friends and their families and we had a blast. Stay tuned for the full report!
