Poland’s flag carrier and fully integrated Miles & More partner airline, LOT Polish Airlines, announced today via Facebook that it will begin flying to Singapore starting in May 2018. The Warsaw – Singapore – Warsaw route will be operated by one of LOT’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft featuring Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class.

LOT Polish Airlines has been expanding a lot lately – just this year they started flying from Warsaw to Los Angeles and re-launched the Kraków to Chicago flight, both of which are operated using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner (LOT’s only long-haul aircraft).

The general consensus is that airlines all over the world are doing really well nowadays. Just a few years ago, LOT cut a ton of European routes and a few long-haul flights.. that’s because at the time they only had ancient Boeing 767s which kept crashing (I’m not kidding) for their long-haul operations. After taking delivery of their B787 Dreamliner, LOT is now able to operate more routes at a cheaper cost.

New scheduled routes that LOT has launched with the assistance of their Dreamliner include Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo – I never in a million years thought LOT would ever fly to Asia given their situation a few years ago. LOT also flies to a number of destinations operating charter flights, including Cancun, Bali, and Bangkok.

Overall, I’m excited to see LOT Polish Airlines launch new destinations. While I’m Polish, I rarely fly with LOT because they still have a long way to go in terms of the soft product in Business Class… it just isn’t that excellent. I’d select Austrian, Lufthansa, or SWISS Business Class over LOT Business Class every time.
