Hello from Zurich! I just had the pleasure of flying the SWISS Bombardier CS100 aircraft from Kraków to Zurich. While the flight time was only one hour, it was truly amazing to fly the new aircraft SWISS is operating on European routes.

The SWISS Bombardier CS100 has been gradually introduced into the fleet meanwhile the Avro RJ100 has been retired. The new CS100 aircraft is modern, spacious, and simply breathtakingly gorgeous. The cabin configuration is 2-3 and the seats on the “2” side are more spacious (and some are restricted to Miles & More elite members). There is also no divider or curtain between Business Class and Economy Class. Obviously Business Class is the same Economy seat with an elevated meal service.

Inside, the aircraft features a small TV monitor above each pair of seats and during the flight it displays the airshow, with the safety video being presented at the beginning. The cabin is incredibly bright and the lighting features various “moods” – the CS100 is basically like a mini-Dreamliner. I will say though that the CS100 isn’t as quiet as I thought it would be – it was loud during take-off, and during flight the noise level was the same as an Airbus A320.

The service was great, as one would expect when flying SWISS. While I was in Economy, Business Class seemed to get a standard intra-European Business Class meal on a tray and drinks in an actual glass. Near the end of the flight, SWISS’ famous chocolates were served – delicious!

All in all, the new Bombardier CS100 is a stunning aircraft and I am very happy that SWISS has replaced the Avro with such a gorgeous and modern flying machine.
