I’m flying in a few days and naturally, I haven’t booked anything yet. As I explained yesterday, I love to book last minute because I literally have a wide selection of airlines to select from. Should I fly Lufthansa First or SWISS Business Class? I’ve flown Lufthansa First Class more times than I can count, but I’ve only flown SWISS Business Class once a few years ago.
I love both Lufthansa and SWISS. Their First Class products are incredible and exceed my expectations by a million miles. I can’t say the same for Lufthansa Business Class, but I can for SWISS Business Class. The Business Class product on SWISS is much better than Lufthansa’s and SWISS offers a better overall experience in Business Class.
The new Business Class on the SWISS 777-300ER is stunning and looks amazing. As a Miles & More elite member, I can assign myself one of the single seats without having to pay extra, so it is a great deal. Furthermore, I am going towards flying SWISS Business because I will be booking through Air Canada Aeroplan and Aeroplan does not charge fuel surcharges on SWISS, but they do on Lufthansa. I would also be flying Business Class and not First, so I would save a bit of miles.
I remember my last SWISS Business Class flight as being memorable and the food being excellent, so I really don’t think anything has changed and I’m really looking forward to the flight (which I haven’t booked yet). The other side of me is going towards my wonderful and amazing Lufthansa First Class. The issue is that it is $300 USD in fuel surcharges and extra miles, which I could use for another trip in the future. While I love Lufthansa First Class, I hate the fuel surcharges that come with it. But then again, Lufthansa First Class is much better than SWISS Business Class.
I know, First World Problems… I think I will fly with SWISS since I haven’t flown SWISS Business in a long time and it would be fun to experience it again.
What product should I fly?
