Oh, man… things are about to get very interesting! I just made a decision that I’d never thought I would have to even think about making. Well… China Eastern Business Class is booked! Instead of Singapore Airlines Suites Class… I can’t wait for this…

Where do I begin? I’m off to Hong Kong in Cathay Pacific First Class in a few days, and then continuing on to Singapore in Cathay Business. Then from Singapore I need to get to a very small island in Oceania (more on that soon), and it turns out the only way to get there from Asia using miles that I have is with SkyTeam. More specifically, firstly with China Eastern and then with Korean Air. Wow.

So I’m flying to Shanghai with China Eastern and then connecting to Seoul with Korean before flying to this little island of paradise. But man, China Eastern?!? This entire itinerary cost me 70k SkyMiles, all in Business Class, which for SkyMiles I think is a great deal, considering how worthless they are. Now, if I wanted to fly from Shanghai to the island of paradise, SkyMiles was only charging 65k miles.. so basically I can pay an additional 5k miles to also add on Singapore to Shanghai, which I think is a great deal.

Now.. the other option was Singapore Airlines Suites Class on the Airbus A380… but I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t “waste” my AMEX points when I knew there was a better redemption opportunity with SkyMiles. In all honesty, I just want to get rid of my SkyMiles completely since I don’t trust Delta at all anymore. About a month ago, this same award I booked cost 40k miles. Now it costs 70k. I really wish I had booked it before…

So China Eastern Business Class it is!! I’m SO happy my SkyMiles balance is literally below 500 miles. It really makes me happy. This trip should be fun…
