I value my Star Alliance Gold status immensely and take advantage of the benefits provided during every trip. The primary reasons as to why I’m loyal to Star Alliance is because of the extensive route network, world-class airlines, high-quality lounges, etc. I fly the most with Lufthansa, LOT, and United Airlines and therefore Star Alliance Gold is perfect for me.
The current Star Alliance Gold benefits are as follows:
- PRIORITY AIRPORT CHECK-IN
- PRIORITY BAGGAGE HANDLING
- AIRPORT LOUNGE ACCESS
- PRIORITY RESERVATION WAITLIST
- PRIORITY BOARDING
- PRIORITY STAND-BY
- EXTRA BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
- PRIORITY SECURITY CLEARANCE (GOLD TRACK SECURITY)
The newest benefit available for Star Alliance Gold members is Gold Track, Priority Security Clearance. Previously Star Alliance provided “fast security screening” but in reality, this benefit didn’t exist at many airports and therefore Star Alliance has made an effort to improve and introduce the new Gold Track.
Gold Track is now an official benefit and there are large Star Alliance Gold Track signs at a majority of the Star Alliance hub airports. The benefit will eventually be available at all Star Alliance airports within the next few months to years. In the meantime, eligible passengers have access to the premium security queues by showing their boarding pass and/or Star Alliance Gold card.
Star Alliance has updated their “Gold Benefits” video to reflect the new benefit:
Gold Track is also, of course, available to Star Alliance First and Business Class passengers.
