I had no plans for the last weekend of May and because it was a holiday, I had no uni on Monday which meant I was able to travel a bit farther than normal for just a weekend trip. I ended up skipping class on Thursday (no class on Friday) and decided to leave Wednesday night to visit a friend in Mexico City.

I booked the outbound flights in United First Class from Seattle to Mexico City via San Francisco for about ~$250, which is a great deal for First Class. With the return, and it being a holiday, it was a bit complicated and I was thinking of returning via Europe.. but ultimately decided it would be a waste of miles.

My flight to San Francisco was leaving at 15:30 and I made it to the airport at around 13:20 and spent the majority of the time at my favourite lounge in Seattle, the AMEX Centurion Studio. I also decided to visit the United Club and The Club at SEA in Concourse A, before boarding my flight.

The flight to San Francisco was operated with one of United’s Airbus A319 aircraft with just eight seats in First Class. Thankfully I was able to secure my favourite seat, 2A. United has very generous legroom in their domestic First Class, a bit more than most other U.S. airlines.

We pushed back right on time and made it to the runway about three minutes ahead of scheduled departure time. We departed right on time and were soon in the friendly skies. Overall, it was a gorgeous day in Seattle… but even more gorgeous in the sky.

Being above the clouds felt like it was a completely different world. The clouds completely blocked out the world below and I was able to relax and look at the gorgeous views above the clouds.

The Seattle to San Francisco flights are short and last about 1hr35min and therefore a “snack” is served. While the snack is described as “premium”, it isn’t at all.. The tea was great, though!

San Francisco is my favourite city in the U.S. and therefore it was great to see it again from the sky.. it just looks amazing and there’s something about the city that makes me want to return several times a year.

We landed about fifteen minutes ahead of schedule and made it to the gate shortly thereafter. Another great, short domestic flight in United First Class. I hadn’t flown United since February and therefore I missed the friendly skies a lot. Flying with United domestically is great due to the comfort and consistency in service and standard from flight to flight – something you don’t get with other AAirlines. The crew was great and the flight overall met my expectations.
