Hello from my home country of Poland! I’m here for a few months visiting all of my family and will also be travelling around Europe extensively this summer due to the relatively cheap flights around Europe. Over last weekend, I flew Lufthansa First Class from Dallas to Frankfurt and as usual, the flight was fantastic and the crew was phenomenal.
The Dallas to Frankfurt flight is one of the easiest in terms on First Class award availability. Lufthansa literally releases ~4-6 award seats in First Class on this flight, exactly 14 days before departure, so it wasn’t hard to book it. I was originally going to fly from LAX to FRA on the A380 in First Class, however due to some plan changes, I couldn’t find the award availability on the date I needed. SFO-FRA was completely full and therefore that wasn’t an option either.
I redeemed 80k Aeroplan miles (transferred from AMEX Membership Rewards) to fly Seattle – San Francisco – Dallas – Frankfurt – Kraków, with the shorter flights being in Business Class. The taxes/fees and fuel surcharges were ~$500 USD, which is quite a bit. Though you know my opinion on fuel surcharges…
While I will be publishing a full report about the flight in a few days, I just wanted to share how awesome the crew was! The flight attendants working First Class were literally amazing and some of the nicest I’ve ever had with Lufthansa. They were both very professional and very friendly. That may have been because I kept saying how much I love Lufthansa over, and over, and over again. They were quite impressed at how young I am and that I’m a Senator and that I’ve flown Lufthansa First Class on all aircraft it is offered on:
- Lufthansa First Class A330 Munich to Dubai
- Lufthansa First Class A340 Munich to Los Angeles
- Lufthansa First Class A380 Frankfurt to San Francisco
- Lufthansa First Class B744 Seattle to Frankfurt
- Lufthansa First Class B748 Chicago to Frankfurt
Anyway, they were awesome. The food on the flight was also delicious and Lufthansa seems to have upgraded their food a bit and you won’t find Elderflower soup anymore… which was kind of a tradition by now.
