Visiting a Friend in Chicago – Introduction

First of all, I apologise for the lack of posts the past two weeks. Uni has started again and I’ve been super busy and haven’t had time to do anything miles-related (except for travelling to New York a few weeks ago and Las Vegas last weekend). I’ve also been busy with the blog redesign and BoundlessMiles… but that is no excuse!

Anyway, to finish the Chicago trip report from when I went in February (seems like ages ago), I just wanted to share some pictures with all of you from my brief weekend trip. I spent the majority of the trip visiting a friend, however I did get a chance to walk around downtown Chicago for a few hours and explore the city a bit. I went to the obvious places like the Navy Pier, Willis Tower, Grant Park, Lincoln Park, Buckingham Fountain, Water Tower, and the Riverwalk.

I also explored a bit outside of downtown and found Chicago a lovely place overall. The weather was perfect for visiting and walking around since it wasn’t too cold nor too hot, just right. Not surprisingly, it was super windy but still nice to walk around. The view from the Willis Tower is incredible (and also where some of the United safety video was filmed – since United’s HQ is there).

The main purpose of the trip was to visit a friend, however I’m glad I was able to explore for a few hours and enjoy the views. I plan on returning shortly since United has some great deals into Chicago, an obvious hub.
