Today is officially the last day of Summer 2015… and that makes me a bit sad as I’ve had some incredible travel experiences all over the globe. Without a doubt, this summer was so far one of my best ones due to a number of reasons including the fact that I spent a large portion of it travelling to new places but also re-discovering old ones and spending lots of time with family and friends. I started the summer by visiting a friend in Mexico City and ended it with a wonderful trip to Dubai, throughout my journey I was able to try a number of new airlines and new cabins on new aircraft, visit some of the world’s best lounges, and interact and understand the culture of various countries.

Since it is the last day of summer, I wanted to take some time and reflect about the incredible travels I was able to experience during the summer thanks to my vast amount of miles and points that were gathered throughout the year. Most importantly, I was able to visit my dream destination: Iceland, and I’m convinced there isn’t a country as beautiful as Iceland is. I was also able to fly Lufthansa First Class three times (each time on a different aircraft type), fly British Airways’ First Class, visit the Lufthansa First Class Terminal and Lounges in Frankfurt, experience the Concorde Room in London, and fly for the first time with a few new airlines.

All in all, it was definitely a summer I will always remember and I don’t think I’ve ever had such a memorable summer as this one was. All of my experiences were positive ones and I’m happy I didn’t encounter any type of irregularity during each journey. I’ve summarised each of my voyages from the summer below and included a few photos and along with that, links to the best posts from each trip. I hope you enjoyed reading about my travels during the summer and were able to learn and see the wonderful places I went to.

A Weekend in la Ciudad de México (June)

United Club (International Terminal) San Francisco
La Ciudad de México
United Airlines Business Class A320 Mexico City to San Francisco

I’ve been to Mexico City more times than I can count, but this quick trip was definitely one of the best. I was able to visit a friend and all of his family and we were also able to visit some of the most important landmarks in Mexico City. Without a doubt, I will visit Mexico City again in the future as the people and culture simply fascinate me.

Flying Lufthansa First Class to Europe (June)

Lufthansa First Class B747 Seattle to Frankfurt
Lufthansa First Class Terminal Frankfurt
Lufthansa First Class Porsche Transfer Frankfurt

Perhaps the best flight of the summer was my Lufthansa First Class flight on the Boeing 747-400 from Seattle to Frankfurt in June. This configuration is no longer available to fly and therefore I was very happy that I got to experience it before they removed the configuration from the fleet. The visit to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt was incredible and I experienced the true meaning of First Class. Lufthansa will always remain my airline as there simply isn’t a better way to fly!

Two Days in Warsaw (July)

Hotel Bristol Warsaw
Exploring Warsaw
Preludium Executive Lounge Warsaw

While in Poland, I was lucky to visit the capital of the country for a few days and stay at the marvellous Hotel Bristol, right in the heart of Warsaw. Visiting some of the greatest historical buildings of my country was important to me and I’m glad I was able to turn a weekend into a fantastic trip to Warsaw.

10 Days – England, Scotland, and Iceland (July)

British Airways Club Europe A320 Kraków to London
Plaza on the River London
Exploring London
Exploring Edinburgh
Exploring Iceland
Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel Reykjavík

London, Edinburgh, and Iceland were all explored by me during 10 days. London is an incredible city and very beautiful for its obvious architecture and scenery. At some point I’d like to live in London for at least a few months to truly enjoy the vibe and people. Edinburgh is Scotland’s gorgeous capital full of history, beautiful buildings, and great people. However what struck me the most gorgeous during the summer was Iceland. I won’t ever forget my first trip to the captivating island of Iceland, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and there isn’t a country as beautiful as Iceland is. The highlight without a doubt was seeing gorgeous sights in Iceland such as Reykjavík, Geysir, and Gullfoss.

Glamorous Dubai (August)

Lufthansa First Class Lounge Munich
Lufthansa First Class A330 Munich to Dubai
Exploring Dubai
Brunch at Burj Al Arab
Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek
British Airways First Class B777 Dubai to London

My trip to Dubai was an unplanned one as I literally booked five hours before departure. Having said that, it was an incredible trip to the United Arab Emirates where I was able to experience the culture, sights, and people of a country that has always fascinated me. Dubai is a glamorous city full of innovation and beauty, some of the architecture is the world’s best and the beautiful buildings will make you desire more.

I’m back in America as of a week ago, and I was able to fly Lufthansa First Class on the Airbus A380, an incredible experience all in itself. I will have the full trip report in the next couple of days and let’s just say that it was by far my best flight ever.

Thanks for reading my Summer 2015 Travel Reflection and again, thanks so much for reading and commenting on my blog, it really means a lot to me. Throughout the summer I’ve gained much more views and visitors than I was anticipating and I’m very happy that my writing is attracting more visitors; comments are also up from what they were a few months ago.

I have some more amazing trips planned for the coming months and I hope you all had a great summer full of travels and wonderful experiences. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook so that you don’t miss any ‘live’ updates of my travels.

Thanks again for reading and happy travels!
