LOT Polish Airlines 3905
Warsaw (WAW) – Kraków (KRK)
12 July 2015
The flight back to Kraków was supposed to be operated by one of LOT’s ancient B737-400, however last minute they changed the equipment to a (newer) E195. My original seat on the 737 was 3F, however due to the equipment change, I was assigned seat 1D and 1C remained empty (perhaps due to my Senator status). I was glad to see that we would boarding via a jetway instead of being driven to the airplane by bus.
Row 1 is the bulkhead row and therefore there is a ton of extra legroom, plus with the empty seat next to me, you could say this was Intra-European Business Class.
We pushed back from the gate about ten minutes before scheduled departure time and made it to the runway shortly thereafter.
We were airborne right as scheduled and the pilot informed us of the short, thirty minute flight to Kraków. Once we reached 10k feet, the two flight attendants quickly started the onboard service which consisted of water (either still or sparkling) and a delicious Polish Prince Polo chocolate bar (which everyone loves).
The service was concluded about ten minutes before landing and we literally spent about 28 minutes in the air. I really like short flights, especially when there is a seat open next to me and I have lots of room.
We parked close to the arrivals terminal in Kraków and therefore all of us had to walk about 100 metres to the terminal from the aircraft, at least it was a beautiful day and there was no bus involved.
Overall, I’m really pleased with LOT’s recent improvements and I would be more than happy to fly with ‘my’ home airline in the future!
