After spending two hours in the Centurion Lounge, I thought I might as well visit and review two lounges that I haven’t been yet in San Francisco’s International Terminal. The first happened to be the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge which is located ‘under’ the United Club in the International Terminal.
To get to the lounge, you simply have to turn right by the United Club entrance and follow the long hallway which leads you to the lounge. I presented the agent my Star Alliance Gold card along with my United Business class boarding pass and she let me into the lounge right away.
The lounge is quite small and was rather empty.. about four people were there and it was a peaceful atmosphere where I could definitely relax a bit.. minus the smell. Maybe I’m just not used to the food in some countries.. but the smell made me quickly leave the lounge, I think it is just a personal preference but I hate it when I can smell food that I don’t like outside of the ‘food area’.
The bar featured a coffee machine, plenty of alcohol, soda, water, and more drinks.
The alcohol was displayed on the glass shelf while the soda and water was in the mini-refrigerator next to it.
I opted for some herbal tea which tasted excellent and later I tried some food, which wasn’t the best.
The nice thing is that there is plenty of seating areas in the lounge and even though the space overall is small, they make good use of the area and fit in plenty of comfortable lounge chairs.
The food spread is located in the back area of the lounge and consists of mostly Asian food. There are also plenty of snacks like cookies, cupcakes, bars, etc.
On the other side of the lounge, there is a business centre near the back as well as more seating areas, and also the bathrooms.
A shelf with magazines is located near the business centre.
Overall the lounge provides a comfortable, pleasant experience with free alcohol and plenty of different drinks and food. I just wish they could somehow contain the smell of the food (or lounge?) since I definitely didn’t seem pleased about that and it is what really made me leave the lounge quickly after taking pictures. The lounge isn’t the biggest, but does have comfortable seats.
