A Weekend in la Ciudad de México – Introduction

The last lounge to visit in Mexico City was the Avianca Sala VIP Lounge located near gate 31, operated by Global Lounge. The lounge is located really far from all of the other lounges and if you are not departing from the gates near the lounge, I wouldn’t necessarily go to this lounge since it isn’t anything special.

The lounge is located on the lower level, under the main departures terminal, so once you see the entrance, you need to take an elevator down to the lounge after showing your credentials to the staff.

The lounge is overall very nice and modern and has different types of seating areas. There are couches located around the perimeter of the lounge and normal tables and chairs in the middle. The lounge consists of one room which isn’t very large.

There are plenty of good snacks, alcohol, and drinks available. While I don’t think the food is as great as in the other lounges, the snacks are definitely much better than those in the United Club.

There are also (very small) bathrooms that are located near the lounge’s entrance. While small, they were super clean.

Overall the lounge isn’t anything special and I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit it, but it you happen to be departing from one of the gates where the lounge is located, it is definitely a good idea to go to this one instead of walking twenty minutes to the other lounges.
