Since the February devaluation of the MileagePlus award chart and the other ‘enhancements’, the programme is becoming less and less of an attractive option for frequent flyers.

Star Alliance Business Class awards (one way) to Europe usually require 70k United miles… however for some unknown reason (a sale or Un-IT-ed glitch?) United has been offering those same awards at just 57.5k miles (which is the price for a United Business Class flight).

Unofficial sale?

Unofficial sale?

You can find flights for this discounted mileage price in January, February and March of 2015. I suggest that if you were planning to fly somewhere where the ‘sale’ is being offered, book soon since we don’t know how long this will last.
