After arriving in the terminal, the only two lounges which I could use were the Global Lounge and the AAdmirals Club. United Business class has access to the Admirals club, but since I knew there wouldn’t be many food options, I went to the Global Lounge which I accessed with my Priority Pass card that came with my American Express Platinum card.
Getting to the lounge was interesting, first an elevator, then a series of corridors and hallways.
The lounge definitely has a nice design and much more food options than your standard United Club. I was actually able to eat and not feel ’empty’ inside. There were many drink options and a selection of alcoholic beverages.
It was Monday during the middle of the day and surprisingly there weren’t people in the lounge at all. Maybe they all went to the Admirals Club.
My afternoon snack consisted of crackers, fruit, cheese, salami and more. I had a Sprite to go with it.
The bathrooms had a very nice design and the whole lounge was modern and quite new.
There were several rooms in the lounge such as a relaxing room (with stars on the ceiling), a children’s play room, a business room, and a reading room.
As mentioned before, the lounge has an excellent choice of light snacks and food. They periodically change the options and add more ‘fresher’ choices throughout the hour.
Overall, I would say this lounge is probably much better than any other US airline’s lounge. If you have a Priority Pass card, then I would go to this lounge over the Admirals club, if you happen to be in San Juan.
