I spent roughly a week in Mexico City and then sadly it was time to leave my favourite place in the world. My friend was kind enough to drive me to the airport and we made it there around two hours before departure. Check-in was efficient and my bag was tagged all the way to Seattle. Security was a breeze and since I didn’t have to take my belt or shoes off, I was good to go!

There are a ton of lounges at the Mexico City Airport, including a United Club! This is the first international United Club I have visited and let me just say it was much better than the rest. There was more snack choices, more drinks, the alcohol was free… I don’t know why United would invest more in a lounge in Mexico City rather than one in the United States. The club was located at least a twenty minute walk away from the gates, since it was practically on the other side of the airport. It isn’t a new lounge, but was in better condition than some domestic lounges.

First I had some coke and nuts, followed by a finger sandwich with tea, and later some sort of pie. Again, much better food options than in some of the United Clubs located in the US.

The lounge was about the size of the one in Seattle and there was plenty of room to sit since there was a handful number of people.

The bathrooms were located at the end of a long hallway, which had pictures of paintings.

All in all, this United Club was much better in terms of food/drinks than any other United Club I’ve been to in the US. The lounge is older, but still nice and I did not find too many problems with the furniture. I was sure to leave thirty minutes before boarding was scheduled to begin as it would take me that long to walk to the gate.
