United Airlines 412
San Francisco (SFO) – Mexico City (MEX)
Airbus A320
05 June 2013

By the time I got to the gate, all of the passengers (or gate lice, I should say), were already lined up and standing – boarding wasn’t announced for another ten minutes. The actual gates to the airplanes were located one floor below the main floor of the terminal, so you needed to take an escalator down to the boarding area.

Finally boarding was announced, and this time just a few people in the Premier Access line, and the first (and only) time I spotted a Premier Access rug!

Business Class was full and there was still around ten people who did not get upgraded, I don’t know why this particular date seemed to be popular for elite travellers, the US-Mexico flights tend to be one of the easiest to get upgrades on (in my flights, at least). I had more than enough legroom in Economy Plus, and not only that, I had the whole row to myself since the cabin was more or less empty.

I slept for the entire flight and woke up thirty minutes before landing and gazed out the window at my favourite city in this world… Mexico City.

The four hour flight went by fast considering I was asleep for most of it. My friend and his family were waiting for me at the airport and welcomed me back to Mexico, I was super excited to be in a country I love.
